Hope Medical Outreach Coalition provides access to and coordinates donated medical and dental care for people who do not have insurance and have low-incomes, do not have and are not eligible for Medicaid or Medicare, Veterans Benefits, Douglas County General Assistance Primary Healthcare Network and cannot afford health care. Medications are also available at affordable rates.

A network of health clinics and community health centers act as an entry point to Hope and provide primary or general health care. Volunteer doctors, dentists and nurses augment services at some of the clinics and health centers helping them serve more people. Other physicians and dentists volunteer to see our patients in their offices at no or nominal charges.

Hope coordinates and links area clinics to each other and to health systems and patients to resources, as a single source for helping qualified patients get the care they need. We offer quality care and patients are treated with respect. Our goal is to keep you healthy so that you stay on the job and productive and out of the emergency room.

How We Help
If you can't afford to pay for insurance, we can help you get medical care and prescriptions. That includes seeing a doctor or dentist for most treatments you may need. Prescriptions are available at affordable costs.

How do you qualify?
To receive help through Hope Medical Outreach Coalition:

  1. You must reside in the three county Omaha Metropolitan Area (Douglas and Sarpy County Nebraska or Pottawattamie County Iowa) and/or utilize Hope's Network clinics or Health Centers.
  2. You must not be covered by any other kind of health insurance, including Medicaid, Kids Connection, Medicare (except for medication needs) Veterans Health Care Benefits or Douglas County General Assistance Primary Care Network.
  3. Your family's income must fall at, near or below 185% of federal poverty guidelines.

Do you have to wait until you are sick?
No! It is better to visit a Network clinic now, before you are sick and/or have an emergency.

Call the following clinics or health centers for an appointment; they will refer you to Hope when Hope services are needed.

What services are available?
Hope treats non emergency conditions, referred through participating clinics and health centers in its Network. Volunteer physicians provide care in clinics treating infection, diabetes, allergies, skin rashes, high blood pressure, stomach pain, tuberculosis and other conditions.

Specialists see patients in their offices when care is needed beyond what can be provided at participating clinics. When and if procedures or surgery are needed, Hope makes special arrangements with area hospitals and other facilities, including anesthesia services at no or minimal cost to the patient. Dentists treat acute/immediate needs to relieve pain.

How do I get prescriptions filled?
Participating clinics and health centers are currently the entry point to Hope Medication programs. Each clinic and health center has an arrangement with Hope that best meets the needs of the patient and the clinic or health center. Questions about prescriptions can be answered by participating clinics or the Hope Pharmacy at 354-6522. Pharmacy staff speak both English and Spanish.

What happens if I have an ongoing medical need?
Hope is designed to ensure that patients have a medical home or a place where they routinely receive care. Clinics and health centers in the Hope Network follow each patient's care.
